Speak francais

The French language is simply known as a Romance language. Not the typical "romance" that we are stereotypically referring to but rather as part of a language family.

Recently, I finally have the time to spend and explore this Romantic language of the West. It was quite some time since my last travel to Paris which was somewhere 5 years ago. Time lapsed by by but the experience left a mark in me. This is also one of the reasons which spark my interest in exploring French.

On the other hand, there are quite a number of good French movies out there like Ne le dis à Personne and etc. It is probably one of the alternatives to Hollywood. Check out Cannes Movie festival for movie highlights.

Lastly, I hope to write more but time is indeed scarce and priceless. So, there will be lesser time spent on blogging. I have a schedule now in Melaka , doing things that I enjoy. So, have a great time and ,au revoir!

the ox and the new lunar year

The new lunar year is just around the corner. I'm back in Melaka after a 10 day business trip in SG. Life is rather different lately. Was it a different seasoning or spices? Or was it an entirely new recipe? I feel much better now in handling the way life is..

Dale Carnegie and Steven W.Price are both the recent authors of two prominent books that I'm reading recently. Through their writings and life experience that were passed down while flipping through the pages , I seem to have a broader perspective towards things around me.

A new year marks a milestone in this lifetime. Perhaps , a more well defined purpose which will lead to a higher consciousness of what life is really meant for. Have you ever wonder why you ended up born as a person, instead of a chicken or a cow?

As I'm searching for an answer , I know that there is no right or wrong. It's just how the answer fits in our defined purpose. With a dream and hope for the future, challenges of the unknown boundaries will always remain inevitable.

Subang Jaya

The prospect of moving to Subang Jaya or at least somewhere nearby it is quite appealing. I just came back from a long weekend there and I'm pretty optimistic of what I can do there.

I visited a few friends. They are doing pretty well in life. I believe I will too. The encouragement was so great and touching. I just need to breakthrough.

Men need to forgive themselves for the past. It is then there's is a present and a future to fight for.

doing things that matters most

If there's anywhere that I would like to express some feeling of disappointment , this would just be the perfect place.

Certain events in my life made me realized that there are things that we can control and things which we can't. To make life progress well , I summarized that we ought to focus more on things that is in our control.

A good example would be focusing on our own personal development. We can control what we want to develop in ourselves , let it be personality , academically , habits or attitude wise. We can't control other peoples opinions, thoughts and feelings towards us.

So, this is what I can conclude on doing things that matter most. Based on my personal experience, I do stray often from the right things that I suppose to do due to attitude and emotions. It's the skill of doing the right things independently of emotions which define how emotionally intelligent a person is.

Japanese curry

When you are still living with your mom, the best thing you can do is ..learn to cook from the family chef. With Cold Storage already opened in Melaka, I could just easily blow about RM80-RM100 on groceries. Very tempting. :)

Honestly, I got to admit that one of the easiest curry to cook would be Japanese curry. Mild , rich and tasty , this curry can be served with sticky rice , toast bread and even taste good on noodles.

Japanese curry is very easy to prepare because it is already ready made in the box. All I got to prepare is some grate apples and carrots to provide the sweat taste and some meat. Hopefully , I'll be able to upload a few pictures in a few days time.

enduring loneliness in entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is like the next big thing these days. Every young people dream about not having a boss day and night. Unfortunately, merely dreaming and wishing can't materialize a dream. Dreaming is free but living in your dream requires a price to pay.

Business opportunities are in abundance these days. So, it's up to us to actually analyze the opportunity that best suits our needs. But even when you get the best ideal business model for you move on, there's still another hurdle yet to come.

Owning your own business is mentally challenging. Yes it is , and the difficulty level differs between individuals. First thing is , there's no boss to tell you what to do . You 're in business for your own. And there are hard times when every damn thing does not seem to work and all odds is against you. That's the time we feel everything around us is cold , dark and lonely. Yes, it's a feeling that every business person will encounter at a point of time. Many people gave up because they got no one to turn to.

How to overcome this ? There's a few solutions that I practice myself.

Enrolled yourself in a support group. Association with people alike that have the same interest and mind set would be a rewarding practice. There's a saying " if you hang around with chicken you will be a chicken, if you hang around with eagles that you will fly like one." Association is where we gain ideas , support and the environment to move forward. In one of Robert Kiyosaki's business education, he did mentioned that business is actually a team sport. You should always feel that way. Your team is actually the people that you will work together to build your business. Maybe you still haven't realized it yet. :)

Get a trusted mentor .Mentorship and coaching is an excellent way to overcome loneliness. Great golf players and footballers have coaches to coach them. This is because everyone has a blind spot and we sometimes on someone trustable to point those weakness out for us to constructively work it out. Having mentors will also provide moral and emotional support in lonely times.

Read and listen more: Reading books and listening to audio tapes is a very effective way to keep the negative away. By reading more on topics related to attitude and mindset , we are actually learning how other successful people go through the point of no hope and loneliness. Leaders are readers. Hence , having the learning attitude keeps the mind focus on what to achieve rather than dwelling to the negative thoughts.

Anyway, I'm still learning new ways to apply. As a conclusion, being lonely is just a test of time. Only those who persist will prevail. It is also a valuable lesson on how do we truly have faith in our own belief, vision and judgment, even after the whole world turn its back on us. So are you game?

Teru teru bozu thought

Picking back the pieces of our own life is neither easy or hard. It all depends on ourselves. How hard we really want to move forward in life even after being hit hard till we fall down to our knees. Only we alone can answer that question. No one else.

It's true that losing a person dear to our heart can be very painful. People may look ok in the outside but still fragile and wounded inside. How can we forget? How do we move on? The best way that I can think of is to be grateful of what we still have. To cherish what we still have. To let go of what that has been away. To make a vow to love ourselves, and to live better . Making sure their spirits still live within us, making them feel proud of how we will live our life in the future. To live for the sake of others. To succeed in life the way they always wanted us to.

For the broken hearts out there, be strong because you are not alone, there's still a long road to go. It's how pleasant and enjoyable the journey is that we can decide. You decide. There's always the sun after a stormy night.

delivering value

I've been away from blogging for close to 3 weeks primarily for some unforeseen circumstances. But, while I'm away, I do realize something that I just feel like writing here. It's more towards appreciating the value of things around me such as family, friends, mentors and business partners.

How do people define value in relationships between people? It's very subjective open ended question. But still , it's this hidden values that keeps the foundations of this relations firm and steady. Similarly, why do people keep patronizing Mcdonalds? Maybe simply because this franchise giant keep focusing on value added meals? :)

What is value from my perspective? It's simply the benefits that you can get/give. It is true that each and everyone actually expects something consciously or unconsciously from a friendship, relationship or partnership. A need .Let it be seeking comfort , interest, emotional support ,guidance , personal development , money, etc.

But there is an old saying is give more and the more you shall receive. I also read this quote from one of Robert Kiyosaki best selling books. To receive more value , you must first be willing to provide more value to others. Willingness for free is a very uncommon commodity this days? Mostly, 10 seconds before providing value to others , there is the voice from the little man dressed like an accountant down below yelling " what's in it for me?"

Great value providers attract more people. In return they receive greater values as well. It maybe as small as providing simple day to day knowledge and support can create great values in friendships and relations. When the value is appreciated and bring benefits to both party/ win-win, this will create long lasting relations between people and organizations. So what do you think? Maybe you can share one and create a value here.
