I spent a week in Taiwan for a company training. What can I say about Taiwan? I'll see you again very soon.
Honestly, I feel that trips to Oriental countries are much more fun compare to the Wild Wild West. Maybe I'm slowly begin to appreciate Mandarin. I'm not a native speaker though.
Quick notes about Taiwan:
The food in Taiwan were really as good as described in the TV food reality shows. Just a week there and I easily gained 2 kilos! A wide combination of snacks , noodles and grilled meat ,especially lamb, beef and pork. Another note is that Taiwanese eat ducks from the head down to the toes.
Services are very good. Taiwanese are very friendly and helpful towards foreigners, and vice versa towards their counterparts. Public transports such as taxis are easily available. Taiwan High Speed Train was a good experience when I traveled to Taipei from HsinChu as it was very comfortable and fast. Unfortunately, Taiwanese drivers are far worst than Malaysians. Reckless and aggressive on roads.
Shopping is a great activity here. There's a wide range of things to shop from souvenirs to food products from Hong Kong, Korea and Japan. The night markets also offer great deals for native snacks and local hand made dolls.
Gambling and 'chicken' love hotels are normal activities here as well. The vice dens are found everywhere like &-Elevens.
