new project

Sometimes we are able to do things that we never thought we can do before. I never thought I would work for RM7.14 a week before. I never dreamed of becoming a project manager in the marketing field. But I guess I'm trying to head that way now. I never thought I could actually do something besides engineering, but I did it anyway. It's all the perception of people, whether they believe they can do it or not.

Next week, I'll be heading to KL for training. There were rumors that TMNet will no longer be our clients. The next project will be World Wildlife Fund WWF. Towards wildlife conservation. Great ya?

the ugly side

There's always an ugly side of everything. People, inventions and animals are not perfect. People can have their unfavorable character hidden behind others eyes. But sooner or later , they will let the cat out of the bag. It speaks by its own. By your own words, you can actually reveal the ugly side unconsciously.

This week agenda is still in progress. It's a cruel and harsh week. But if there's no pain there's no gain. The following weeks agenda will be as follows:

#1 Listing 10 skills that needed to be develop in 5 years.
Breaking down the monthly, weekly and daily tasks needed to be done in order to develop those skills.

#2 Listing all the possible ways to make money.
Picking one way to generate income and break down the goals in order to achieve it.

To be completed by Monday 1/10/07. Nuff said.

A story behind mid autumn festival

Mid autumn festival day just passed a day ago. As for everyone, a day for eating moon cakes has just passed. A day to watch the prettiest moonlight has just passed. There 's two stories on the origin of this celebration.

# story 1

In ancient China, there was a province who was ruled by barbarians. The villagers were totally outnumbered by the barbarians who have weapons and spears. The villagers are not allowed to carry any weapons or they will be executed. So one day, someone thought of an idea to wage a rebellion against the tyrant barbarians. The mastermind began to distribute free cakes which are round and sweet. The cakes were not known as moon cakes back then. There's a piece of paper hidden in each cake with a message that every villager will rebel on the full moon this month. The cakes were distributed to every villagers without being noticed by the barbarians. When the full moon comes, the barbarians were attacked by surprise and successfully overthrown by the villagers thanks to their team and collective effort.

Moral : Man are simple yet complicated creatures. Yet they are able to deliver during struggling times. When there's a will, there's always a way.

hit it

Todays lesson about life is...to feel good about yourself. Set realistic goals that you're confident of achieving. Once you set it, try your best to achieve it and make sure you do it. Once the goal is achieved, you will feel great and the awesome feeling will be around for some time.

non comfort zone..

I'm feeling uncomfortable today. I 'm uncomfortable when I need to wake up early at 6.45 am everyday without fail. I'm uncomfortable when I'm not complaining. I certainly feel uncomfortable when I need to call a bunch of people. I feel uncomfortable when I sleep too long in the afternoon. And the worst is I feel very guilty if I don't take control of my life and feel comfortable at where I am now.

For a moment, I got the feeling that life in Melaka is pretty easy. Perhaps too easy. And it fuels me with more excuses to rot and be conditioned like a social pet. Is feeling comfy at a young age a sign of degrading potential? I guess so.

can someone motivate me?

Can someone else motivate me? The answer is NO. No one can motivate you but yourself. Other people can only inspire you. Remember that.

How to motivate yourself? You have to know what you truly value most. Your own personal value and work hard for it. Are you motivated to work hard simply because your boss offers Rm1000 bonus on that day or are you motivated to work hard because you know that it will contribute to the success of your future goal?

I just love to read Aesop fables lately. Maybe because its short, simple and easy to relate to our daily lives.

random thoughts

I'm feeling irritated and irrational a day ago. As mentioned earlier, emotional control requires practice. I hope I can perform better under pressure.

I bought a BUM watch Asaha Powell limited edition for RM 20++ yesterday at a special price. It's medium sized silver casing with black leather straps. It was quite some time since I last bought something for myself. My next purchase will be a pair of black leather shoes for work.

I'm in the most challenging phase in my life since I was born. How can someone claim to be independent when he/she is still staying under one roof with their parents? Simple. If one can settle the laundry, bills, household chores and not asking any money from dad, that's good enough.

Will write again in 24 hours.

emotion

I'm learning to control my emotions. It's easy to control your emotion in front of your colleagues but not with your family members. After my dad has been diagnosed with cancer, I can feel a slight stress at home. I'm a direct and frank person at home. And I will voice out anything that I find is not correct. But sometimes, being honest and direct may end up hurting up peoples feelings. Managing a dilemma right now.

all the small things..

All The Small Things was originally a song written by a punk rock band Blink 182. It was a hit during my secondary school years.

To have a broader view on life is a wonderful thing. Many people always say " You gotta look at the bigger picture" or anything which is similar. But in reality, it requires working on all the small things to construct a big thing. Small things such as picking ones nose ,not smiling properly , or failing to notice something so minuscule can lead to many problems or lost of opportunity.

I'm going off to KL to work till Tuesday. Hopefully it will be a fruitful experience to learn. Watch out KL guys!

monday blues

Everyone has Monday Blues. The thought goes like this.."Oh, fuck! It's Monday! Gotta go to work!"

I woke up early this morning. The thought of receiving a bad sales call from my dear customer last night was still ringing in my mind. Thank God its a holiday for me. I went to Pantai Hospital and get things settled.

I kinda praised myself today. I got everything in my ToDo or Die list done. That was the first time indeed. I manage to skip 20 ques at the post office to pay my Streamyx bill. It's because I somehow remembered my old school mate working at the payment counter (he's name is Yusof) and I just smiled to him and said... "hi". He beckon me to come and settled my bills in 5 minutes. Pretty easy huh?Just be nice to everyone. That's being street smart..I guess.

I can't wait for tomorrow. Highly anticipated.

This is what I'm thinking right now. Buying a motor yacht and cruise along the French Riviera

assuming roles

September has just began. After assuming roles as a leader at the office, I have to assume the role as the home manager as well. My dad will undergo his first radiotherapy treatment this week. I'll be at the hospital in the morning and to work before lunch.

I'll be honest and frank. There's lots of task need to be managed. I don't need to worry about it last time. Now I do. Bills, groceries, car maintenance, work, business , family and myself. How did my dad juggle those at his younger days?

I guess that will be my goal for this week. Learn to assume the important roles as efficiently as possible.
